Leadership Team

Ellie Norris-Smith joined Angel Oak Academy in 2015 as a newly qualified teacher and has taught across multiple year groups for nearly a decade. 

Ellie holds a BA (Hons) in Applied Psychology and Sociology from the University of Brighton and obtained her PGCE through the University of Greenwich.  She studied for a Masters in Leading Innovation and Change from St Mary's University, where her dissertation focused on supporting reading automaticity using low-transaction error-correction techniques in Key Stage 2. Ellie was part of the team who took the academy to an outstanding Ofsted rating in 2017.

Ellie gained the National Award in Special Educational Needs (NASENCo) from UCL in August 2023 after taking up the Angel Oak Academy SENCo role in 2021.  She has had experience working with and teaching several children with SEND across both mainstream and specialist schools.
